The USTA, through it's partnership with Freedom Alliance, hosted several service members from all branches at the 2011 US Open. For some, it was a welcome day away from a VA medical center and a distraction from painful rehabilitation.
Service members stayed at the Grand Hyatt, located directly next to Grand Central Station in New York City. In addition to watching the tennis matches in a fully catered private suite within Arthur Ashe Stadium, they also enjoyed dinner at Stella's Manhattan Bistro.
This is the second year the USTA and Freedom Alliance partnered to bring service members to New York City to enjoy the US Open.
