@88PROMAX hi deb files are just like exe file for linux debian based .easydebian can let you have a desktop like linux environement on your n900.for the dictionnary i don't know about that but i camed across several apps that do that on the repositories but i have all of them enabled(extras-devel and exttras testing with FAP not the default app manager) just googled that and Qstardict seems recommended for a dictinnary app.
Nope... would be nice to avoid scratches, but then again it would prevent use of the phone so not so great ..

Win 2000 prof is certainly possible, though of course even slower.. and why not Sql Server Express if you really have the time to wait for it.. :)
