I had a Game Gear in my room, sitting on my floor far from my bed in which my Nintendo DS is sitting on. I usually take both of these portable systems with me every day anywhere I go (Lone Oak Ranch, Aly & Mike Dunavant's house, Miss Tamara Holmes' house, Mimi & Bubba's house, Mimi Butcher's house and Fun Plex). AWESOME PORTABILITY. OUTRAGEOUS COLORS. NINTENDO AND SEGA ARE NOW FRIENDS.

Sony ripped off Sega's Visual Memory Unit back in 2000 or so -- Sony released the short-lived PocketStation for the PS1.

That's pretty awesome, DC was my favorite console back in the early 2000s. Loved the VMU Memory Card things

I'm serious. Sega and its third-party licensees continued making games for it. I remember seeing Puyo Pop Fever for the system -- it only had a Japanese release circa 2004 on that platform.

Did the Dreamcast really last that long in Japan? That's crazy it failed so many years ago here in the US

On the other hand, the Sega Saturn and Dreamcast did reasonably well in Japan -- the Saturn lasted till around 2000 or so, and the Dreamcast lasted till... I think 2006 or 2007.
