What's with the mean, profane language? tdbsnr's comment was polite and observational. Just because s/he questioned her deafness doesn't mean you need to answer with such rage. It would have been sufficient to answer with: "She's been deaf since 12. Thats why she can speak".

Deafness is not a simple case of deaf/not deaf, light on/light off.Hearing is assessed across a range of frequencies 25-8000 Hz, 0-120dB, in each ear & both together, air & bone conduction. In her own words (do your homework) she is severely deaf. Her residual hearing which may vary ear to ear enables her to function well, and she is highly able. Me? Teacher of the Deaf (ret), BEd, CTD/Audiology, BEd Hons(spec Ed), PCE, MEd, MRINS, BPEC, RFUL. Read again: Evelyn is a fine musician.

It's impossible to listen to her because she states a small tiny thought and uses minutes and minutes and examples and demonstrations and demonstrations and exampels to transport it.
Get to a point! The truth doesn't need many words!
PS: If you'r at a gathering for sharing ideas and you get applause for your drum skills ... you did something wrong.

First time in my life I've ever turned the volume up to listen to a percussion piece on an instrument other than piano. I love TED talks. Always such an experience. They make me feel dumb as well as like I have the potential to understand so much more than I do at the same time.

I saw her live 15 years ago and can attest that she projects a lot of sexual power.

Boring. And yet quite uninteresting at the same time.

I was really surprised to hear her say that she was deaf. Just the ability, how well spoken she was and, the whole get up. If no one said anything I thought it would have just been a ted talk about music.

If you're not a gay boy or if you're a gay girl, then what exactly is odd? She is sexy, I must say. (well, man or woman if you're a bit older)
