This machine is being used on outbound passengers at Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam. I have no idea what it is though? We didn't go through it because there was only one machine but several lines to queue. Are airport security measures gradually increasing or is it just me?

  • @harbosma Thanks, G4S is buying ISS as of yesterday. Just have to learn Dutch, lol.

  • @89lovely89 For as far as I know you need to be able to speak Dutch. The security companies at Schiphol are G4S, Trigion and Securitas.

  • @harbosma Hi, I work for security at Gold Coast Airport in Australia, I 'm a Dutch citizen but do no speak the language. Do you know if it's sufficient to just know english and work there? Also, is the security ISS?

  • I am not worried about all those new gadgets for security reasons it is the personnel who work them. A little more friendlier should be a good way to start. Give an minority an uniform and he thinks he is god!

  • I work at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and I can confirm that this apparatus is not harmful whatsoever. It is indeed working with ultrasonic soundwaves (so it's like a sonar). The computer does not generate a picture of the body. It only lets the staff know where on the body it has detected an anomaly (which could be an object of some kind). It indicates it by squares on a pre-drawn schematic body (you can see it for yourself after passing), so the security staff can search specifically.

Do you research ''Bro''. Those machines are not harmfull to people. And it doesn't work with x-rays. It works with ultrasonic sounds wich go through your clothing but bounch of your body or items on your body. The sounds beams coming back are processed by a computer wich forms an image with it :)

  • @dromycatcher

maybe do some research first. It works with tiny sound waves wich just bounch of your skin. :)

  • @h4x0y Keep believing this bro. Those machines ARE HARMFUL TO YOU. It has been proven that it has long term effects. ITS A FUCKING X-RAY SCANNER. And when it scans your fucking nuts and balls you get your cock and dick X-RAYED. You think that's ok? They people passing laws are the first ones to ignore or break them.

  • That is a millimeter wave full body scanner. Lots of airports have them now.

  • @POelala

    i agree..

taping such things is considered a preparation of a terroristic act.

maybe not by you but by whoever sees this tape, so they know how to act.
