@Ladydiode Goldner sold them cut rate food at top prices, many of the labels were flat out wrong, and I do believe the lead in the soldering caused many deaths. Goldner was a crook. Also much of the tinned food was putrid and spoiled, it was determined that moch of it had not been boiled properly.
Also, the vendor who supplied them the tinned food was so unsanitary there have been proposed credible theories pointing towards botulism poisoning.

It was determined later that the lead soldering used on the tin cans caused severe lead poisoning
