ES Donavan 1985 ( Derwisch/ Dirk/Argentan) Hanoverian stallion in 2002 was nearing the end of his Grand Prix career , shown here ridden by JJ Tate. His pedigree includes several esteemed bloodlines of Germany: Dirk/Duft II/Duellant; Argentan /Absatz/Abglanz; Grande.
He is owned by Wendy and Marty Costello (now in MD ) since 1999. Prior to being ridden, trained and shown by JJ Tate, Donavan was ridden very successfully by George Williams.
He is 17.1hh. Dark , Mahogany bay.
He has been very successful since his 100 day test at age 3 , where he earned 136 + pts. through to many year end awards , high point placings and accolades through to Grand Prix. He and JJ Tate gave many exhibitions and clinics, and raised money for charitable causes before his retirement from competition at age 18 and from performance at age 20..continuing giving lessons for a while after that.
Donavan, in age 26 in 2011 is still healthy , breeding via frozen semen and is sire of many successful offspring, including eventers, jumpers, hunters and Dressage stars. receiving from their sire, great talent, exemplary temperament , beauty , substance, work ethic and mind..
