Health is a public service. The federal government built our interstate highway system, thats a public service. We have enough bombs, lets spend some money saving lives rather than on ways to kill more people faster.

Going through my own medical nightmare has not only opened my eyes to the reality that each American citizen is being bamboozled into believing the government is looking out for us. I had to go through it myself before I believed Michael Moore. Now I know our government does not care if we live or die, as long as they get their kick backs from the health care industry. Hurray Michael Moore for having the guts to stand up to the status-quo.

There's a scene in this movie where the birth of the British system is explained. They decided, at the end of WW2, that, if they could spend all this money in order to kill people, why couldn't they use a lot of money in order to save them? The idea that gets lost in this is that while this bill may cost 1.5 trillion over 10 years, our defense spending will cost us 5.1 trillion over the same time. So the US should be the country known for destruction, not construction in the minds of teabaggers.

I agree with you about the bombs but health is really not a publc service, especially not a federal one. Over 70% of all money they take from us stays in DC to support the department while 80% that's voluntarily given to private organizations goes to the people it's intended for. Apply those numbers to medicare and the millions of dollars that's spent on it.
