  • this video is really nice.

i have glossophobia and it does really sucks.

especially since i plan on being an English major in college ( which means i will have to take atleast one public speaking class at the college i plan to go to). the only time i am not nervous to read in front of class is when it comes to French ( mainly because no one understands what i am saying anyway).

    can i ask a question:

did you ever overcrome your fear of public speaking? how?

    thanks : )

  • @BabyGirlGoddess hey, i'm a creative writing major! lol. soon to be, at least. i took a speech class last year, so i'm kinda over my whole mini case of glossophobia. there isn't really a set thing you can do, i guess, just practice and try to keep ahold on yourself. don't talk to fast, remember, they are the ones listening to you, so just relax, and just talk to them. like how you would with anyone :D

    thank you!

  • thanks for replying to me so quickly!

it's nice to hear from other people....

    anyway,

    hope you have a good night....or day,lol.

  • @BabyGirlGoddess haha, no problem! hope it helps :D

    you too!

  • I'm studying Othello too! :) But I don't really have a problem reading aloud. In my class, I've always been one of the only two or three who consistently volunteers to read or act. I'm Desdemona in our class. I love it! And I've also always been pretty good at pronunciation in French. It's just one of my strengths, I guess. I'm pretty rubbish at memorising vocabulary though!

  • I'm your papa! lol. I usually volunteer to read 'cause no one else does :p I like read aloud in French 'cause it helps me a lot lol. I don't know what it is, but it's always been easy for me to memorize vocab words lol. Comes in handy a lottt!

  • NOOOO when i read, i have to take a breath in between each word. i fear it :(

  • I knoww, I hate it when you come onto a word or sentence structure and you stumble your way through it and it takes forever to get back on track :p I like reading aloud in French though lol, I definitely need the practice.

  • There's nothing wrong with having glossophobia :p It just takes a little practice. Before I took a speech class last year, I could barely speak in front of anyone. Now I'm pretty good at it :p

Thanks for letting me know! :D

  • I am really good public speaker, I'm just clumsy when I read aloud. I avoid it at any cost xD
