Minimal installation of mariadb (mysql fork) on Nexentastor 3.1.1 (Opensolaris-based NAS).
Should work with opensolaris-11 too;minimal installation, default settings whenever possible;solaris' root access from console required;root mysql password set to 1. Granted access from everywhere;mysql data in /usr/local/mysql/var; ultra-minimal my.cnf, fill with your needs; NO default firewall active: DO NOT expose default NexentaStor installation to Internet!

Do you happen to know why there is no 64-bit version of MariaDB for solaris? It says i386 only.
