Democracy Now! Special: Martin Luther King's Life and Legacy 40 Years After His Assassination
The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated forty years ago today. He was in Memphis, Tennessee to march with sanitation workers demanding a better wage. We spend the hour on his life and legacy. We hear from the Rev. Jesse Jackson, who was with King at the Lorraine Motel, where he was killed; Harry Belafonte, who was with Coretta Scott King at the King home in Atlanta on April 4, 1968; Dr. Vincent Harding, a close friend and colleague of King's who wrote King's major antiwar speech, "Beyond Vietnam;" Taylor Rogers, a former sanitation worker in Memphis; Charles Cabbage, a longtime activist and community organizer in Memphis who met with King hours before he died; Jerry Williams, one of the only African American detectives in the Memphis Police Department in 1968; Judge D'Army Bailey, a circuit court judge in Memphis and co-founder of the National Civil Rights Museum; and we hear King in his own words, giving his major speech against the war in Vietnam and his last public address given the night before his death in Memphis, Tennessee. @in22525 they said the same crap about Dr. King. That ought to tell you something about yourself. You listed all of these terrible things Pres. Obama allegedly has done, yet you provide not one fact. While you are entitled to your opinion, I just read your post and I am reminded of the what people said of Dr. King and they said the exact same things about him during his time on earth. It's amazing how things don't change and hate still lives long after Dr. King fought and gave his life. Sad.

By now you should see that Obama's dream is a communist nation. He trashes our military, America, and our flag. He trashes our Constitution. Open your eyes. If you agree with him then it's obvious your a communist too.

in22525,
Is this the same mccain who voted aganist making Dr. King's birthday a holiday?
Obama didn't go to Memphis according to you, what's your point?
What do you think is more important, visiting a place for show or living the dream daily?

Obama who does not and will not share MLK's dream, did not go to Memphis on April 4, 2008 to pay tribute and honor a great man. Senator Clinton and Senator John McCain made the time to pay their respect. Please open your eyes people and see Obama for what he is. He is a divider, not a uniter. Vote no on Obama.
