RAF Drytree was one of the Chain Home Radar Stations in the Second World War that served Cornwall and the south western approaches. It was situated on Goonhilly Downs on the Lizard peninsula. This video looks at the history of the station and examines the remains that are still there today. Access is good as most of the site is a nature reserve with good paths across it, so it is well worth a visit.

Can you add any more details about the site? Do you have any more wartime photos of the site? Did any of your relatives serve at RAF Drytree? If so, please leave a comment.

The music in the video is Goodnight Sweetheart by Al Bowlly, Coming Home by an unknown wartime artist, I get by by Charlie Kunz and When they sound the last all clear by Donald Peters.
