kfir brigade's "beret march"

Not everyday a new brigade is established, especially not a brigade as important as "Kfir". The "Kfir" Brigade was officially established a month and a half ago and already it is known as the largest brigade in the IDF. The brigade is composed of Nahshon, Shimshon, Lavi, Duchifat, Haruv and Netzach Yehuda Battalions. Each of these battalions operates in central cities in the area of Judea and Samaria and the Jordan Valley.
This week was especially festive for the brigade, as it rejoiced in the completion of its first forced march for the brigade's beret. "August 2006 draft warriors - you have won the privilege to be the first Kfir combat draft which completes the forced march and acquires the new beret through hard work," said the Brigade Commander, Colonel David Menachem, at a ceremony held to distribute the berets to their rightful owners. "However, belonging to this brigade is your true privilege," he added.

Following the completion of the 42 kilometer forced march, a festive ceremony was held and the camouflage beret was distributed to the brigade's new warriors; the beret is colored in camouflage colors which are familiar to the area of Judea and Samaria, such as earth and olive colors. The brigade is deployed over an extensive operational area and professionalizes in warfare against Palestinian terror organizations active in the Judea and Samaria area. Colonel Menachem congratulated the new warriors during the ceremony: "I believe in you, trust you, and I am proud of you for the commitment, the great effort, and your dedication to the cause which have brought you to this great achievement, and I expect these principles will light your way in the future."
