SINGAPORE: Myanmar's President Thein Sein will make a state visit to Singapore from Sunday till 1 February.

President Thein Sein will be accompanied by his spouse Daw Khin Khin Win and a high-level delegation comprising several ministers, senior officials and business delegates, says Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

After the official welcome ceremony at the Istana, President Thein Sein will pay a courtesy call on President Tony Tan Keng Yam.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will also meet President Thein Sein and they will witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on the Singapore-Myanmar Technical Cooperation Programme.

While in Singapore, President Thein Sein will also have a breakfast meeting with Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong and visit the HDB Hub.

President Thein Sein was last in Singapore in 2009 when he was the Prime Minister of Myanmar.

Myanmar is set to chair ASEAN in 2014.
