Today, CAPOC has over 100 employees and a budget of over $15 million to help people and change lives. It provides and mobilizes resources to help people help themselves, provides safety-net services for those who need help, and works with community leaders to bring solutions to community problems and builds stronger and healthier communities. CAPOC serves persons at or below the federal poverty level and on National Family Volunteer Day provided corporate partners and their associates the ability to give back to the community for the holiday season.
It has turned out to be quite a massive feel-good event right before the holidays that also provides a tangible and meaningful benefit for the community as well, said Mark Lowry, Orange County Food Bank Director. At a time when we need to help each other to weather this ailing economy, our corporate partners are leading the way and setting an example.
CAPOC changes peoples lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves communities and makes America a better place to live. The agency cares about the entire community, and is dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other.
Community Action Partnership of Orange County would like to thank the Disneyland Resort, Edison International, General Electric, Ingram Micro, Pacific Life, Wells Fargo, KPMG, EverTrust, First American, VANS, Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, Anaheim City Council Member Lori Galloway, Shawna Rimke of Congressmen Ken Calverts office, Lisa Kalustian from the office of Governor Schwarzenegger, and all the volunteers for taking the time to help feed thousands of families this holiday season.
