    Eastenders really missed the boat with derek, they kept tempting the derek and phil rivalry and nothing happened, they should have made derek kill ben and allowed him to come back in the future for the big showdown. Bad writing from easties.

    Only the current shambles of a 'writing team' could write in and write out a potential legendary character like Derek Branning within a few months. An absolute waste, at least his few story lines were enjoyable. Hopefully the 'writers' get the sack asap.
