  • Have you considered doing a series about Section 31?

  • i did think about doing a video about the history of 31.

it would include stuff from many different films as well as from star trek

  • Obsidion Order and Tal Shair have nothing compared to Section 31 IMO. It is the most secretive and best agency in galaxy. Must be why the Federation can go to war with every power in the Galaxy and survive.

  • Section 31 should recruit Garak, He is smarter then all of them put together, He covertly brought the Romulans into the Domionion war.

He would make a valuable asset.

  • The omnipresent right arm of starfleet intelligence.TSA,CIA its the darkest of the darkside.

  • You know, that's a bit of genius, connecting the aftermath of the Dominion War, to the timing of the strike in Nemesis.

    I'm impressed.

  • @Amar7605 I have no problem with what the writers wanted to do with DS9, examining the Federation from a political standpoint, but the result was just terrible. At every chance, the writers tried to portray the Federation as evil and corrupt. Section 31, Admiral Leyton, Sisko's dealing with the Maquis, just terrible.

Besides, there had already been episodes, and entire movies, examining a darker side of the Federation without having to trash the Federation.

  • @JohnnyC133 The thing about DS9 was that they needed to stand out from TNG and VOY storyline-wise. So that's why it evolved into a darker, more practical series. I personally had no problem with that, and when it came to the Section 31 arc I enjoyed the struggle between idealism and practicality. It's something that we all face every day.

You also make a good point about a Section 31 series. Perhaps a Section 31 film would be better.

  • @Amar7605 First, my overall point is that a series about Section 31 would destroy a lot of its mysteriousness, it's compelling secrecy. That it would 'tame' Section 31, which is just bad.

Second, I think Roddenberry would agree, but he'd still oppose it. Star Trek is based around idealism, not practicality. Sure that's naive, but there was always something refreshing about having a show where people sacrifice for their ideals, not resort to crap like Section 31. DS9 ruined that.

  • @JohnnyC133 I respectfully disagree. Yes, a Section 31 series would be a great departure from Gene Rodenberry's vision, but stories evolve and I think that GR would agree that there is an underlying price to preserve paradise.

  • @Amar7605 Because that would be the final nail in the coffin of Star Trek.

  • Section31 was behind the assassinations of Lincon and J.F.K lmao

  • Why can't they develop a 'Star Trek' series based on Section 31?
