My interpretation of the closet is that it is a memory of younger days. When she was younger and would get scared or something, she would hide in her closet. Though, one can also think of it as a symbol of isolation. I say hiding because of how she is in the closet.

@Diddlemuffins It's actually a glitch. Go to the dream world and when you get to Mado's dream room, sit in the chair, turn around, activate the bike effect, then press 'Z' to get off the chair and viola, quadruple running speed.

@skyrunner14 Well, she seems to be a teenage girl who wants to stay in her thoughts. In her dreams, there are "bad girls" running after her ; what exactly is so scary about them? And then, she is found "staying in the closet". Maybe she is a lesbian? This theory is a little pushed up, but not as much as the entire game, that is.
