This is a skit by The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, where Rod Corddry explores how Corn Cob Bob is helping promote Ethanol fuel. Some of the facts are not correct, but it's a great skit.
A bit of background... Corn Cob Bob was actually created by myself and four others. We were part of a Marketing team to help promote the 2005 International Plowing Match & Rural Expo in Perth County, Ontario.
Leading up to the 2005 IPM, CCB was also lent to the Canadian Renewable Fuels Association to help promote Ethanol fuels. It seemed like the perfect fit for Bob.
Corn Cob Bob (or CCB) did his job well. The attendance that year increased by over 16,000 of previous year's numbers, and he achieved nationwide newspaper and television media coverage when he was banned by Shell Canada from attending the July 1 Canada Day celebrations in Ottawa. Which led to The Daily Show learning about him, and deciding to do a report on him.
After the IPM, CCB continued to promote the CRFA. I haven't seen him for a while though....
