PLEASE READ: Jitterbugging on the Santa Fe (New Mexico) Plaza, with the Santa Fe Bandstand summer live music program ( http://www.SantaFeBandstand.org ). Song by Jim Terr, live performance simulated, but dancing is real! Sponsored by Posa's El Merendero, tamales and burritos "live" and by mail order, http://www.SantaFeTamales.com.
I'm a bit evangelical about the importance of swing and social dancing, especially for our Modern Yoot of Today; please see this commentary: http://www.bluecanyonproductions.com/opinion.html#ballroom Also see trailer for "Mad Hot Ballroom": http://youtube.com/watch?v=F5wEb_3S2VM Song written and sung by Jim Terr ( http://www.JimTerr.com ), recorded in Cerrillos, NM, around 1986, with Busy, Baird, Alan Hand (on piano!!), Francine, Jeff and the whole usual bunch of suspects. See a great video about getting "social dancing" going in high school: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwL-YSE5Hck
There are many great jitterbug, swing and Lindy videos on YouTube, and hey check out this weird one, on which a great-uncle of mine evidently did the music: http://youtube.com/watch?v=cbaNYWkQYYA THIS VIDEO MAY BE VIEWED IN HIGH QUALITY (select) and full screen! ( category - JT music performances & interviews not included above )
I love this, but what in the world is walking across the screen at 0:53??? Looks like Chong.

Just some Santa Fe character. We've got thousands of 'em. Could be the mayor.

I thoroughly enjoyed this video and was glad to see Posa's get recognition and must say it is a local favorite and a staple in traditonal new mexican food all throughout the city.

I have confirmed that the commentor is not affiliated with Posa's, just a fan. Sincerely, your conscientious videographer.
