    Hello, and thank you for your interest in Julia and her basketry. I don't not know the specific details concerning Julia's parents except that Julia was orphaned when quite young and after a time was sent from Santa Rosa to the Carson City Indian Boarding School. Her basket skills were learned from her Mother-in-Law, Lucy Telles as well as other Indian women in Yosemite Valley.

  • Yes we had to get a filming permit (very expensive). The permit was for a specific date, time, and location and was strictly enforced...luckily the weather cooperated.

    Once we received the permit, the Yosemite staff in the valley were very courteous and helpful. Because our production is self funded the permit process for us was costly. I understand the need for the permit because of the extensive use of the valley.
