This is amazing, nice to see some digital footage with subtle tone, and something that doesn't feel hyper real. Tell's you a lot how much computer nerds know about creating cinematic imagery if they don't know how impressive this is.

I thought 5k shooting was only @12fps?

Not very well lit, looks like some kind of 50's nightmare vision of being alone in Las Vegas

Amazing footage. The dynamic range is Huge. Highlights are perfectly exposed and also shadows. This is something I never have seen. This is footage for those who Know obviously. I think this is something that we all dreamed before but could do it only after hard post.

It's like a panavision image !

Not sure what the point of posting this on Youtube - which handles HD appallingly badly. Should be posted on Vimeo (and it still would be missing a lot of information since the Red EPIC 5K shoots in ... 5K). That said, to all those losers who think this isn't special: ever wondered what this scene would like like in almost any other digital camera, including high end (non-65mm) cameras? The brightness of the neon lights above would almost completely wash out the darker crowd and surface colors!

looks too flat ...

It really didn't look like anything special...
@wpromo Thats the point!!!!!! The flatter the better. The flater the gamma curve is the more information is captured. Then you add contrast in post. Thats how cinematic movies are made.

to anyone who thinks this doesn't look impressive, or that it even looks bad, i can guarantee you, this is awesome.
with a normal camera, you'd get all those small lights way too exposured and covering much of the frame, or you'd have the people be completely black due to the focus on the light.
it's not impressively looking, but just think of how precise and beautiful you can make color correction.
