Sandy, I ran out of room replying to your post. To continue, the corn ear borers only damaged the ends of the corn, so I didn't have too much damage.
I get hit bad sometimes with cucumber beetles and squash bugs on all my cucurbits, and I haven't found a good remedy for that. That entire family of plants, squash, pumpkins, cucumbers, melons, are very troublesome for me, from the pests to powedery mildew and other diseases. Very frustrating at times!
Sandy, it looks like maybe I didn't ever respond to your comment here. Not sure if I got a notification on it, because I like to respond to any comments. Anyway, my only Eggplant problem is flea beetles, and I have conrolled them before with Pyrithium (sp?) but this year I have used Ortho Max, and that also works. I have had minimal bug problems with tomatoes, and don't think I have ever sprayed them. I use Sevin on Corn for ear borers. I didn't do it this year, and had many ear worms.
Hi Marvin, I love watching your videos, always great looking plants. One question, how do you control insects? This year my Eggplants never produced, they were covered in Spider Mites. Tried to control them naturally and with insecticide but to no avail. Each year my squash get the Squash Vine Borer. Tomatoes suffer with Tomato Army Worm as well as the Corn. Any advice would be great. Keep up the great work.
