Footage from a 13th birthday party. Music was mainly R&B and hip-hop, with a bit of pop.

Sound system is 2 x RCF ART310-A with 2 x DB Technologies Sub05 (all powered) totalling 1500 watts.

Main console is two Denon HS5500 hard drive media players feeding an Allen & Heath Xone:92.

The small monitor speaker on the table is a W Audio PSR8A 150 watt powered cab.

Lighting is two LEDJ Blockbuster 8's (DMX linked) and two EVL Spins (also DMX linked). There's a solitary Thomann LED PAR64 on the floor behind the rig to provide a splash of colour on the wall.

  • What are your opinions of the w audio psr 8a speakers? I am thinking about buying a pair for small house parties instead of lugging their 15" versions around!

  • @DJT294 they're OK to use as monitors, but I wouldn't suggest using them as a main system. Not loud enough and not enough bass response. You might get away with them if you use a sub as well.

  • Did you replace your CDJ-400s with the Denon players?

  • No, they are two totally different devices. The CDJ-400s play CDs and the Denon HS5500s are MP3/WAV players.

  • cdj plays mp3 too!!!!

  • Yeah, but it's nowhere near as good at it!

  • How does it work out money wise though. Maybe I'm charging too little because I couldn't afford to pay anyone else!!

  • It's always handy to have someone else along to help setup, DJ and pack away.

  • Do youhave an assistant at most of your gigs??

  • Sweet setup! Very nice job as well. :)
