Crow attacks Hawk. Video shows a crow attacking and "guarding" a hawk, while another crow, beneath the tree the hawk is in, eats.

Hawk watches prey. The birds the hawk watched (08.03.04) included an assortment of interesting North American songbirds including; woodpeckers, cardinals, starlings, red-winged blackbirds, tufted titmice, crows, and others.

One crow consumes a carcass near the tree. While the hawk watches all the prey, a crow hovers over the hawk watching it. When it will fly away, it will likely be surrounded by crows. While it sits there the crow above it just watches, but attacks occassionally to scare it away. The sentinel crow seemed to be protecting the crows that were eating the carcass.

Whitetail deer and turkeys browsed through the field as this was going on and a cat also watched.

After the hawk and the crows left some turkey vultures (buzzards) moved in. Filmed on 08.03.04 and the first day turkey vultures were seen in this area of Ohio. They are famous for arriving at Hinkly, Ohio, on March 15.

The lame deer has been in the territory for several years and is shown in other videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gg8I_2sbXg

  • i cant watch this video

seen it yesterday! lets chat 6Y

  • Don't be fooled: a crow is not playing. they WILL kill any hawk or owl they can sneak in a quick beak attack to the back of the head. We can be certain such a peck is utterly dangerous too. A foolish crow can become victim to the hawk as well. I watched a s a young crow attacked a coopers' hawk and that didn't last long. It dove into the canopy of a huge maple and the hawk grabbed it! It was that years' first crow brood so to speak.

  • what song is this?

  • thanks nice
