First compilation with the new camera! I might have to toy with the editing software a bit, because the FlipShare is fine for sticking the clips together, but you can't add subtitles or anything. Due to a user mentioning the blue subtitles were annoying, I will try to add shorter subtitles right before the event happens. I left the clips a little longer at the begining so I could add a short description. Hopefully this will improve the "flow" of the video because the clips won't ever stop. The old blue ones were in between clips, and sort of forced people to read them. Hopefully this new (resting on if I can use Youtube video editor) method will allow people who don't especially care for reading to look at the scenary, check out the trees, other cars, etc.
**UPDATE**
So like an hour ago I wrote the above information. I used Youtube's annotations, and they actually worked pretty well. I'm not gonna use pauses because based on past experiences they are just annoying and get in the way. I must say between FlipShare and annotations, making these videos became ten times easier (and I hope a lot better to watch). Windows Movie Maker: goodbye...never using that again. In case you were wondering, this is what I had to do with the old videos:
1. Plug my smartphone into the computer.
2. Convert the mp4 files into WMV files.
3.Import the clips to Movie Maker.
4. Since Movie Maker divides all the clips up into little random clips (like 5 seconds a piece) I had to put a bunch back together and divide a bunch up (since some were 1 minute long)
5. Fix any color problems (like sunglare)
6. Add subtitles
7. Save movie files
8. Upload to Youtube

My new and improved method:
1. Plug Flip in
2. Trim files (SUPER EASY) and save to computer (in one step!)
3. Compile clips and hit "make movie" button
4. Upload to Youtube
5. Add annotations

The old process took 3 1/2 hoursish...the new one takes about an hour and a half, and a whole hour (at least) of that is waiting for Flip to make the video and for Youtube to upload it (because it's HD it takes a long time). During these saving and upload periods I can do other stuff...like watch the Blazers-Thunder basketball game (Blazers won!), and this makes me very happy...Overall, this latest video is the best, easiest, fastest video I have had yet, and I hope you'll agree! :)

Please let me know how you think! I have lots of different things I can do with these clips, so I can change them based on suggestions (just please be polite about it) for my future compilations. I want people to be entertained, atlhough mainly this is for my own personal learning and improving my computer understanding.

  • Honestly your not any better then the drivers you're claiming are bad. You just bitch and moan about the small things and then think your so much better.

  • @Ericbdizzzle True...I whine about "small" things. They are interesting things I see on the road. However in regards to your mention of me being a bad driver, might I ask for a SINGLE situation in this video where I did anything illegal? Because I don't see one...and I am quite familiar with the road laws.

If you'll also take note of the two top comments... they are responses to a troll with the exact same claim as you. However, maybe you can do one better and actually respond?

  • @Ericbdizzzle I am truly curious why you think I'm a bad driver...because it's not really what I think, it's scientific measurements. Like speeding...that is easily measured, however nowhere did I do that. Bad driving is easy to see...it's science-based. Nowhere in this video do I see myself breaking a scientifically based-law...however maybe you do?

  • Camera man isn't so perfect. I see most of the things you pointed out were nothing at all that should raise concern except the fact that you obviously have a problem with the transportation industry and your road rage issues show that. Tailgating? Passing on an entrance ramp? Speeding? Failure to yield? Come on!

  • @FuhQueToo Everything I posted was illegal and dangerous. I don't have any problem with the transportation industry, only the dumb drivers who put my life in danger everyday.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by road rage issues. The only one that could even be considered tailgating is clip 30. But he failed to yield and cut me off...so I didn't really have anywhere to go.

I was never speeding, and I never failed to yield.

Nice try though. Thanks for playing.

  • @FuhQueToo Oh and I'd love for you to respond. I love hearing trolls' arguments. Like yours, they usually make no sense, and generally involve a lot of assuming.

Oh I nearly forgot! I didn't pass on an entrance ramp. There's a big glowing red sign at the top of the ramp that says "FORM TWO LINES". The Transit held both lanes. My actions were correct and legal. Once again, nice try.

Welcome to Portland you ignorant moron :)

  • Nothing much incriminating for that RC. I best orange cab is guilty everywhere in the burbs! Hehe. Going to keep an eye on your vids for taxi's :)

  • @shs59 I made the decision I wasn't going to report drivers unless what they do is really really bad. Some people do, but I really don't have the time. Plus I'd get trolled for "acting like a cop". It's also a bit late at this point...I reported a tow truck (in video 14) that ran a red light and pretended to be an emergency vehicle, and ODOT was very interested and asked for the dashcam video. I'm awaitng a response for that. That's another thing: I wouldn't ever get a response from the police.

  • You ought to mail that clip of #15 to his employer.

  • @kyogre6444 Anytime ;)

although...to be honest it doesn't work very well...traffic sucks no matter what they do. I'm not sure why they were on in that clip, there was a multi-car accident that had shut down the freeway 1/2 mile back and there were 0 cars actually on the freeway, only the people merging on.
