@ShUrkaSl You've hit the (nine inch) nail on the head! Leona ISN'T that kind of performer. The reason people are getting so wound up is that Hurt IS that kind of song. She has an amazing voice and yes it's emotional - it's just not the emotion which is in the lyrics. Power ballad superimposed on in-the-gutter rock-bottom no-hope grunge.

Hey everybody, there's a rumor going around that Leona shot herself up with heroin the day before this performance and again before she went on stage because she was needing a fix from the day before. She also got drunk both days.
So there you go. She was singing with depth and emotion.

@weedy984 Woah - you need to see her live, you'll be touched if you do - i promise. She has an amazing voice (backed up by critical reviewers) and depth and sincerity mean everything (they are the people who create original work) which is why Xfactor cover the work of the greats - Leonard Cowen, NIN/Cash, etc and now Damien Rice too

I don't understand you guys with those top comments about Leona being unemotional with this song.
Didn't you know that she's not the kind of performer, who incorporates the topics like death and destruction? And if you can't accept that then what are you doing here? Go and listen NIN and Mr. Cash. Isn't that just wonderful to have a choice?
She made an amazing cover, she revealed the beautiful melody of this song, made it powerful and striking, not just painful(as the original).
