Truck slams into Kroger Grocery Store

HARPER WOODS, Mich. (WJBK) - A fiery crash claimed the life of a truck driver early Saturday night, when the semi he was driving plowed into the side of a Kroger and burst into flames. The accident happened on I-94 near 8 Mile, when a another car hit the truck and caused it to lose control.

Witnesses say it all started when a vehcile cut off the semi truck causing the big rig to lose control. Several local fire departments raced to the scene to put out the flames. Eastbound I-94 and 8 Mile were shut down while State Police conducted their investigation.

Harper Woods Police have confirmed the driver of the semi died in the crash, and other person was injured.

Police have not yet released the victim's names.
