Kirsty was never an in your face performer, she was a great lyricist and used irony and understatement to tell the story.

Thanks for info on Kristy: I did not know her father was so famous. I know those whom she left behind, shall never forget her.

I bought two of her albums after listening to a story about her life on NPR several years ago. She was amazingly talented.

And in this song her accent could have easily passed for an American one (perhaps it's easier for the British to emulate American speech than Americans the British) . Great band here as well.

RIP, Ms. MacColl.
