  • 'Paying workers not to work' does not promote economic growth. However, extending unemployment benefits does help prevent bank robberies, home forclosures, people without medical coverage crowding our emergency rooms, growing welfare rolls, and many more things that will all cost the Virginia taxpayers money we don't have.

  • I love that this "standupforva" site makes it seem like lawmakers turned down this money for all of the unemployed. The only thing that got turned down was paying unemployment for part time workers. And while that measure was voted down, there has been zero media coverage on the measure that extended unemployment benefits for full time unemployed workers for an additional 13 weeks.

  • Yup, Principals not Debt enslavement.

  • besides, it's not like Virginians don't pay federal taxes. It's our money and we're entitled to it when we need it the most... seriously... VA... get a grip! We're part of the Union, too, remember??
