This video was recorded at the Ohio Renaissance Festival, Oct 14, 2007 near Waynesville, Ohio, USA. In reviewing it, I am impressed by the squire that runs out to stop the speeding horse.

So do they have to give first aid medieval style? Where are the leaches, bring in the leaches!!! That had to hurt!. At least everyone was okay.

even the most seasoned rider can fall off a horse and it looks like his foot was caught in the stirrup. Horses are "fleeting" animals and they run when they are scared, notice the horse turns around and you can see him still running past the men on the ground, going the opposite direction. The horse was freaked out by the man who was dragging along the side of him. anne C.

Ah, those horses are not running 25mph. They dont have enough runway to get up to that speed.More like 10mph. That doesn't make the injuries any less severed, though.

I've just taken a Squire position at the Kentucky Renaissance Faire and this video has certainly raised my eyebrows. Much respect indeed to the brave squires and knights!

In case you were wondering... although banged up, no one was injured by the horse. In fact, they all went on to do the next joust two hours after this.
