For me, this is what Mod is all about. Everything, the beat, the horns, the dirty bass, the vocals. Heck, I'm not even articulate enough to describe why songs like this and Little Milton Welcome to the Club, are just in the zone.
BTW, the FAME reissue project has finally had its first release, the best of Jimmy Hughes. This track is on it, which is odd as it wasn't released on FAME. Anyone got his other Atlantic release, Uncle Sam? I'd love to hear that one, if it's half as good as this.
Fabulous x
