My previous video, 'Reduce Noise using 32-bit Photoshop Image Stack Averaging: '

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icchwBKmZ_w

received so many puzzled comments that I created this one to help the other make more sense.

Imagine the big crazy circles are grain, or noise, that you want to reduce. I purposely made them extremely crazy to demonstrate that even they can be somewhat reversed and improved in quality.

  • Dude, concentrate on middle of screen and watch ur Quicktime movie over and over 33 times and close ur eyes, wait for 3 sec and u ll see the girl!! : )

  • @TheNeeleshkale exactly.

  • no dude, this still makes no sense. it does nothing but distort. not noise reduction.

  • @ourbloodykisses No dude. Go to 0:32 and look at that giant mess of dots. THAT'S what you are starting with - a bunch of those, as if from an unbelievably grainy surveillance camera. You are not given the clear photo as a starting point.

  • I'm not really sure what was so unclear about the first video, but maybe that's because I've been tinkering with these things a lot in the past as well. I hope it's more clear to everyone now though :)
