Does anyone else have local stores or greenhouse selling infected squashes and cucumber plants?
Due to the cold wet spring everything outside the greenhouse is still small. Unfortunately the greenhouse had to remain open for 3wks due to violent storms and delayed the growth of the plants inside.
When I recover the greenhouse I will cut the greenhouse plastic wide enough to cover the end hoops and long sides. I don't believe the entrance or back wall will have enough plastic to cover the ends and may require to be sealed separately if at all. Lesson learned ; ) Remember tightly sealed greenhouses need good air flow to maintain a good growing temperature. We have solar fans and window arms that open and close based on a set temp. we will be using next year. You could even make velcro windows.
We allow weeds to grow in the greenhouse, we find it helps hold onto moisture and less watering. When the weeds are large enough they are harvested and given to the animals. A lot of weeds are medicinal. Don't eat weeds if they are sprayed with chemicals or you don't know what your eating.
All the plants have been watered with mycorrhizal fungus and did appear to be healthier a few days later. We are growing totally organic this year using bone meal, wood ash, lime, coffee grinds, compost tea as needed. We do not use Diatomaceous Earth as it will kill off the beneficial insects and bees!
I hope everyone has a great harvest this year!
Looks really good. Fungus is the one thing that is really hard to beat. The goats are great. You do a great job gardening. Thanks for sharing this. Wonderful

Nice greenhouse! Pineapples and limes, oh my. That is wonderful. Chocolate mint sounds delicious. We have not had to use anything on our garden, other than eggshells and Atticus's pepper/garlic spray. We had to water the garden a few times so far. But it is doing really good (knock on wood). We started all our plants from seeds, but my tomato seedlings got blown away by a freak wind storm so they are the only ones not from seed. Thanks for sharing these neat ideas!

@preppinjunkie Thanks, trying it's all a learning curve....lol! This year has really thrown us some curves with the weather! The bugs haven't been that bad thankfully and I believe that is due to the greenhouse but the bees still make it in and out. My tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, carrots, lettuce are from seeds and onion bulbs. My son tilled the sections by the door that I planted medicinal plants in...we'll see if they still grow. Atticus has a great garden! Chocolate mint without the guilt.
