On October 15th, over 100 people will begin one of the largest hunger strikes in American history to call on Latinos, immigrants, and people of consciencethe Immigrant Rights Movementto rise out of our fear and vote for change. The Fast for our Future will be based in a permanent encampment at La Placita Olvera, the historic heart of Los Angeles, and will continue until at least 1 million people have signed this Pledge. Through our shared sacrifice and commitment we will renew our movement and inspire an historic mobilization of Latino, immigrant, and pro-immigrant rights voters. We must remember the I.C.E. raids, those detained and deported, the families torn apart, the dreams deferred. We must remember the marches, the walkouts, the boycotts, and the promise we made: Hoy Marchamos, Manana Votamos. Yesterday we marched for our rights, today we vote.
SIGN THE PLEDGE.
JOIN THE FAST.
RE-IGNITE THE MOVEMENT.

You're a fucking idiot. I have no problem with immigrants having rights, but illegal immigrants should have no rights what-so-ever, and if you think they should, get out of the country. Illegal immigrants have NOTHING to do with slavery, and the word illegal does not demonize anything, it is a very justified word to describe something ILLEGAL.

You know what is illegal? Thinking you can build happiness on other peoples suffering. It is the same thought which justifies slavery. And masking it with a word as 'illegal' to demonize the other is not fooling anyone who believes in equality of the highest order in life.

Do you hear yourself? Illegal immigrants should not have rights? And what exactly makes a person illegal? A border in your head! And that's what people should die for? "Illegal" is a word that justifies exploitation with lack of responsibility for the destruction one causes! Its idiom of politics not of the reality of life.

The American Capitalists force almost every country to open their "markets" to them. Their system forces millons into the world's industrial cities. They can not due without immigrant labor in the The American Empire but they want an easily exploitable group to increase their profits. They are workers the same as us no matter where or how they got here. Legalize all immigrants now! Pass a Constitutional ammendment giving all who reside here the right to vote. Vote Socialist Workers 2008!

This is such a load of bull.. IF they were here legally they would have rights, so obviously this video/group/organization is not directed towards the legal immigrants. Illegal immigrants SHOULD NOT have rights, and they should be thrown out and back to their own country.

Unbelievable. Illegal aliens come over here covertly and start demanding rights. Give me a break. They think they can jump the line for citizenship. The ones from Mexico seem to have a loyalty for Mexico, including their language. Why don't they have the balls to march for rights and make demands on the Mexican government? They seem to think the U.S. is a pushover but it is evident it is not. The U.S. currently allows 1 million legal immigrants a year. Sorry, it can't adopt a country.

I am honored to join the fast today with so many amazing people, including Maria Elena Durazo and Dolores Huerta. This is the civil rights issue of our time.
