you all need to read 'Half the Sky', an AMAZING book in relation to Gendercide and how we can help eliminate it

@TheSerenityjewell Lets not forget everyone that is part of the culture in India that you smile when you are embarrassed or ashamed.

Its important to understand that the mother are living under larger power structures that force them to take such drastic measures. This doesnt happen in a vacuum, they dont just wake up one day and decide to kill their daughters...its much larger than that. Its patriarchy, colonialism, capitalism. ect ect...

@harry4health I understand where you're coming from. But like I said, I come from a matriachal family. We don't treat boys as 'lesser human beings' just because they have penises you know. >=\ We love our sons just as much as our daughters.

@UncleBobIsAngry - NO gender should be "preferred". One is just as evil and perverted as the other.
Just like Black who are racist against Whites are just as bad as racist Whites who are racist against Blacks (same for any ethnic/racial group against another).

This video has come as a shock to me. I am an Indian and Hindu but from where I am from and the family I was raised in, WE VALUE GIRLS. In fact, we are disappointed when BOYS are born. That doesnt mean we treat girls as more precious, no. I come from a matriachal Indian family so in that context girls are simply more preferred than boys. We have a lot of women in my family including myself. Whenever I hear about female infanticide, I could be me born in the wrong family.

Yes I agree, how could she laugh, after she's murdered 8 innocent children!
I understand people being upset by the woman's laughter at the end of the video. I think she was reacting in the same way we all do when we are embarrassed or ashamed. Imagine living in a culture where this callous act was expected of you. So very sad.
