here is how how i've connected the microkorgxl with the kp3 and kaossilator through the roland microcube into my acer travelmate 6292 laptop running ubuntu linux. in part 2 i will show you how to record using audacity and ardour (ardour2) with a simple line in 1/8 th inch jack cable interface. no need for an external firewire or usb sound card audio interface:

yes my screen is jacked up. all those black dots are missing pixels, but it's funny because i've gotten used to it that i don't even comment on it in the video =)

  • You should be using a audio interface, not your computers internal sound card.

  • @dacstudios777 yes, i know i *should*, but i didnt have one at the time =) now i have a zoom h4n that can be used as an audio interface...

  • too much stuff....really who uses the input of a laptop...step it up

  • @PaisaBoyTV right, i didnt have an external interface so the laptop input was all i had at the time. now i have the zoom h4n and can use that instead...

  • i already have an amp and a keyboard but is there any way i could get a similar setup only cheaper?

  • @o0JoeWright0o just use what you have, you don't need everything here, i just showed a setup of what i had at that time...

  • I have a Dell Studio Laptop with the JBL sound internal setup. Works fine. I am a Studio engineer and to tell the truth sound card are really only limited by the inputs and outputs these days. Allot of the processing is software based and works fine.
