  • that's one of my most influential albums and it's largely the reason I started getting into effects. I have the cassette. Have you heard Madcat and the chi-town pressure cooker live at the Pig? One of my all time favorite harp albums.

  • Madcat sounds like the Jimi Hendrix of the Harps to me, weird but great.

  • that is unreal. holly crap

  • I remember seeing Peter "Madcat: Ruth for my very first time at the Ark in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It was at a Charlie Musselwhite concert. Here he stepped on stage unannounced and much to Musselwhite's surprise. He just blew everyone away. When finished, Charlie could only ask, "Does any one know who that guy is?"

Of all the harmonica players out there, Madcat is perhaps the only one who has the nerve to upstage Musselwhite.

He is simply a remarkable talent.

  • Well Crap,

I posted my first text comment before I heard your selection Jason....opps!

  • My favorite on the album (Michigan boy here) is Sonny Terry meets Jimi Hendrix
