Saleen Auto Car Commercial Student Edit

I did slicing and dicing of this video for a class I took at Salt Lake Community College (Salt Lake City, UT).

This video came with this audio and 10 slices of video. I put this together as a part of a class to learn to use video editing software (Adobe Premiere CS3) This is my version -- there are a lot of versions of this same commercial on YouTube, just search for "Saleen Commercial".

This was my first attempt ever at using this software. Baically it involved using transitions, a few filters, layering video, stretching or shortening clips, cutting here and there. Assignment required that I add some text and effects.

Sorry if my interpretation offends serious Saleen buffs. I have NO IDEA what a Saleen is :).

This took me about 1.5 hours to assemble and clean up. It could use some better synching on the audio and better / more text effects for starters. Take it for what it's worth... a student assignment.

BTW, this is a higher resolution version because I didn't want to resample it, so it requires more buffering than most videos on YouTube, but the quality is much higher, too.

How did you do those effects? - like the effect on the wheel and the one a few seconds before. Is it just a transition?

Transitions are included with Adobe Premiere, just pick and locate it in the timeline. A few of the transition effects might have been a combination of 2 or more filters.

I just got Adobe Premiere CS4 a couple of months ago when it first came out. I can't wait to learn more edit tricks this coming semester.

We used this commercial in my Film Class in high school too. lol It was the first time they had offered a film class, so we were just using Windows Movie Maker!
