I bet if you tried this in the US you'd get flagged for additional screening.

2:14 yes on paper this will work however I wouldn't wish to be you at the baggage screening isle lol

Because of TSA screenings, wouldn't they make you TAKE EVERYTHING OUT OF THE COAT POCKETS????? Don't they use X RAY SCREENINGS?? If anything looks suspecious, you'r valuable time will be wasted.

@timtranslates about to do exactly this. Barcelona --> Ibiza and back. Might get chilly. I'm thinking it won't. Wish me luck.

Great advice! I've been on a foreign exchange for 10 months now and I'm going home soon, and I have WAY to much stuff to take with me! I'll try this and see if it works. Thanks! =)

I did this once, you don't have to give them your suitcase sometimes when you check in the rolling luggage, so I went to the bathroom, took out the heavy stuff and put it in my carry on, checked in the bag, then went back to the bathroom and put it back in...they aren't going to weigh you a second time!
Some innovative stuff. :D Of course the ideal situation is that you just don't have much stuff with you. Quite easy in warm climates, but becomes impossible for example in Finland in winter with all the clothes etc.

@Keeko78 Not quite easy if you travel with your entire house like I do! Most people who travel for a few months have a base to come back to where all their stuff is waiting for them :P
I don't think just clothing is an issue. You might need to take lots of books with you for example.
But yeah, the ideal situation is being a minimalist!!
