i read something on a website that said he was getting much better until he had an absses on one of his legs near the hoof and that's why they put him down...i thought that they would have wnted to wait and see if it healed then he would be alive today. (an opinion(
OK, this was one heck of a horse and I truly admire what he achieved during his (far too) short life, but I have to ask, who would want a horse to end up a cripple?? Especially THIS horse?? Had been mine I would have ended it the day of his accident, I know I will be flamed for this, and ALL credit to his owners for trying so hard for him, but at the end of the day was it really worth it?? I KNOW he was comfortable etc, but..... JUST my ever so humble opionion is all OK???
Nobody will ever forget Barbaro, he will be in legacy and join Man O' War and Secretariat in history, undefeated but his last ever race. RIP Barbaro, I would double the pain and take it as my own if it would save you. RIP big boy
