Anyways, i got the whole Adobe pack from school and it included Flash, but i find it a bit hard to use at the moment :/ so is pencil better or do i just need to use Flash more to try to understand it ?

@BleachKyuubi To do frame by frame animation in Flash there is only a few basic things you need to learn to get started (F5- hold(extend frame duration), F7 - blank keyframe, dot and comma - go back and forward, enter - play and find that little button that activates onion skinning(two overlapping squares)). It wont take much effort to get up and running (in my experience) and it will be much more stable than Pencil...

@BleachKyuubi [continue]... The pros of Pencil will be bitmap drawing for a more pencil-like style/feeling and the price.
It will also be possible animate in Photoshop if you have the extended version(CS3 or newer), although a bit clumsy.
Imho Toon Boom Studio/Animate would be the best vector frame by frame animation app and TVPaint the best for bitmap at the moment, though they are both a little more complicated to get started with.

I have hand-drawn frames for a cartoon I'm trying to make that I scanned into my computer. Could I import the pictures into this program and have it add in-between frames?

@jazzmessenger8 You should be able to import png and jpeg images by drag and drop from your file browser onto the canvas. :]

hey man i was wondering did u use ur mouse to draw this??? if so... u r amazing if not can u tell me what u used im tryna animate on my comp but its so hard with the mouse

@lillionheart99 No, I'm not amazing >_> I use a tablet like everybody else. :D Wacom make good ones! ...I use a Intuos3 (thinking of upgrading to a Cintiq, hopefully in the near future)..
It may take a little while(/a few days) to get used to looking at one place and drawing at another though.
