I just read that from birth to 5 months a baby is very right brained. This means a baby can learn to sight read one hundred or more words. It's just memorizing letters and words like pictures, but it greatly enhances the child's intelligence all through life to start young like this. It will help her learn to read so much quicker. I am going to start flash cards today. My 15 month old little girl has been obsessed with the alphabet. This video inspired me.

Her Aunt is bright, but her mother is unreal!

She loves words and letters. Numbers, too. She worked on it with Grandpa 2-3 times a month. She really just picks things up quickly.

Memorized, probably...but still pretty amazing. It is said that girls develop quicker than boys, and I believe that, but we are still very proud of her. She used to love reading her cards and only did them when she saw her Grandpa. Now that she is almost 3years old, she is even more amazing!

She is a smart girl. Although its more likely she memorized those words..and didnt really read them. Its also my limited and life experience that girls develop much faster than boys.

It's amazing what a good environment will do to a child. I have a friend with a 20 month old and that kid barely speaks and here this girl not only speaks clearly, she has a large vocab and can read!
