Technique vs real players: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tCVz2...

http://biffotasty.blogspot.com

Music:
http://projectdolphin.bandcamp.com/al...

This is a new technique and entirely different from the method used by Vangief and other Zangief players. The existing method requires the player to hide or 'buffer' half of the motion in a normal or jump. This does not.

Its practicality is exactly parallel to how hardcore a player you are. So, if you're not hardcore, then it won't be practical.

Although technically, you only need 4 inputs after initiating your jump animation(up, right, down and left). You will most likely be going past diagonals. This will mean you have 7 frames to hit 7 inputs.

EXTRA NOTE (as pointed out by thechap82): Method 2 actually acts as a throw-tech AND armour-cancel option select. As well as being a standing super.

Expect 'desk sucks' Ep.2 to heavily feature this.

Hey, desk, quick question: What kind of gate do you use in your stick? I used a TE for a while and I couldn't even do 360s on the square gate.

Yeah, I'm all about octagonal gates! Having 8 specific directions that you can 'fall' into is something I really like and, obviously, it helps with rotations too.

This is ridiculous. So, it's impossible with a full 720 (540) motion and no plink.

nah, I do it accidentally in this video a few times. It's just easier with the extra frame.

Desk, can you make a tutorial for standing and walking 720 for Hugo in 3s, and Hawk/Gief in ST?

I play Zangief, and I use Ultra one. So this "Standing 720" has always been a mystery to me. The way that I do the ultra is by jumping. While in the air I do the 720 motion and then I do the Button input to fire off the attack.

But I'll try the Forward/Backward-dash one, it looks pretty neat :)

More or less you want the buttons to be pressed almost at the same time, with the HK hitting a frame earlier. Gonna have to practice it a bunch in training.

You might have gotten your answer by now, but basically plinking a button gives an extra input, essentially, giving you another frame of lenience when performing links. I'm not sure WHY it works, but you press the button you want to link and then VERY QUICKLY press any button of lower priority. For example, when plinking the hk in Dudley's cr.lp -> cr.lp -> st.hk, you'd input st.hk and then lp as soon as possible afterward.

In the input log it should look like this:

    LPHK

    HK

    It's pretty tricky

The fighting game community has some "dinosaur mind-set" people which will always tell you, that one thing or another is just for noobs/scrubs and will be considered as not "ok". Just forget about them! Think about Hitbox controllers.

I did always wonder about the octagonal gates, I figured it was a scrub thing to want to use, but from the sound of things I guess it's more likely that the community just lives in the past and should be using them on all sticks?
