how come when you multiply 52.84 x1.0775 you get 56.9351 and you move it to 2 decimal space to the right and you get 56.94 ins't it supposed to be $56.93

@pilot9159
We're rounding to two decimal places and in this case the 5 after the 3 means that we need to round up, so the three becomes a four to give us 56.94. Moving the decimal two places has to do with the percent, not the rounding.
I hope that helps! :-)

how do you do tax on a paycheck?
ib want to know how much i will have after tax.
theparkers2004 2 years ago
That would depend on a number of things, including the tax rate in your state, etc.
You may want to Google search for "payroll tax" and your state to get an idea what it would be.

wait what would you do if you wer uing fractions like for example how would you figure this out what is the total cost of a sweat shirt if the regular price is$42 and the sales tax is 5 and one half how would you figure that out.
basicalyy you didnt explain what to do if youre using fractions

If you have fractional percents, the easiest thing to do would be convert the fractions into decimals.
So 5 1/2% would be the same as 5.5%.
