Yes this is silicon. the only germanium Fuzz in Roger Mayer's range are the Classic Fuzz and the Page-1.

@Picropideng All Rocket Series pedals are available in a rectabgular box as well. go to roger-mayer.de you'll find it all there or at roger-mayer.co.uk

The sound's a little bit muffled, as if the thing was buffered or something.

@thomasjeeh I'll have to see - I wish the axis was available in the X-style of chassis, but when it comes to pedals, the tone is the ultimate decider.

It took me no longer than 2 seconds to realise I had to go for the Axis Fuzz, I just love the sound it produces. To my ears it's wamer and fatter!
