I have the original race on vhs, He lost it, despite an interview later stating otherwise.

Same here! We were about 50 yards from the bridge and like you say every lap he pushed a bitter harder and twitched....just knew he was going to lose it.

also on the same day mansell drove in a tvr tuscan race which he won with ease, which when the guys he was racing race that car all the time is a great finish

I was on the outside of the corner near the bridge that day, with 1000s of Mansell fans. (I am not a Mansell fan BTW) I also remember him getting more and more sideways through the old hairpin, thinking "He is going to loose it". A few laps later the inevitable happened!!!
