I'm workin' on an introduction and an end to this song, but I can't find anything better than what she does.

@ryuna "Not pure enough" is not only wrong, it makes no sense at all. Krall does jazz standards almost exclusively - she's arguably "purer" than, say , Wayne Shorter or Urszula Dudziak (both of whom I greatly admire, btw).
Diana could be accused of being conservative, but so can, e.g., Wynton Marsalis and any number of other great jazzmen.

I just love all of these self-appointed musical "experts" who love to trash a wildly-successful jazz entertainer like Ms. Krall because she is not "pure" enough. Jazz nearly died about 30 years ago because it was so pure, no one would come to listen. If some here had their way, Krall would be playing at a 7-11. All of those many thousands throughout South America must not have been discerning enough, I guess. Perhaps jealousy is afoot too. Deliver me from self-appointed critics.

Who the fuck s the great base player? reminds me of Clayton

DK is not a great singing voice but heads up a great rhythm section is a good entertainer who brings swing to a mass audience, and a good jazz pianist, I agree that there are shades of Basie here and there and all the better for it. All power to her elbow

ピアノも歌もうまい!日本にもこんな歌手が誕生しないかな〜。

Anthony wilson, the best, the whole band - amazing.

@David7338 Actually, I think as a pianist - and I like her piano playing here - Diana's a lot closer to Basie than to Oscar Peterson.
This will be/is a very influential version of this song.

@lachie10 The drummer is Jeff Hamilton.
Beside being extremely gourgeous, she also know how to swing. This is simply one of the best versions of 'East of the Sun' ... :-)
