Track 6: In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed. This is the closing night of The Fillmore East, a very special show that has flirted with an official release for over 30 years.

"The tape begins with Graham introducing the Allman Brothers Band as one of the best he's heard according to his untrained ears, and the band embark on a show that packs a lot into an eighty minute set. The opening numbers show some restraint and not until "In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed" does the band get into an elongated jam session reaching over twelve minutes. The show ends with a twenty minute "Whipping Post" and a seventeen minute encore "You Don't Love Me"/ "Final Serenade" where Duane Allman quotes Handel's "Joy To The World". "

  • People get so carried away when they have no ability themselves. This album was the only good thing they ever did.

  • @discomadame ....j. beck is great . he is my Favorite . He Is also , pound for

pound , the best living guitar player . There is this light that shines on all of them over

the past 60 years when it is their turn, too. They all have their moments, because it

is constant. The Music never stops. p.green, blackmore, zappa, carlton, iommi, lespaul

    gibbons,young,e.frose,s.more,d.gilmour,bossomana,b.dogget,mustaine,guy,page

    betts,hendrix,BOA,EMCFADDEN..........

  • This is classic rock/jazz fusion at its best. Listen and you will hear Miles Davis and John Coltrane in there deep. The Allman Brothers Band were masters. This is likely their very best performance.

  • no dislikes, :)

  • Kids it's not about guitar solos a d shredding the axe!

It's the Feeling you get when the song is played and the the replay of the tune over and over!

The vib you get when closing your eyes and just say Keep on Keeping on! BigDocjhnyz!

  • Duane and Dickie were far beyond any modern player because they loved and studied the blues, and played it........\

  • love the way they stretched out a song. had to be an incredible live experience.

  • People who dislike such things...they must be some great geniuses..:)

  • @MrGeltabs ...Yes , the question posed to me from Django was one of longetivity- 40

years of ,I think how long a bands greatness is ,NOT solos. Because that would be AN

entirely different list . Greatness - HOW STUPID . IF you like or dig someone's music

are they not your favorite and to hell with what someone says..........Why did I bother

with that guy . Cheers and enjoy THE BROTHERS!!!

  • @ripedecomp jeff beck is great
