Think again quite the opposite students today have no chance if the teaching is wrong sorry to say that 95% of teachers are in for the money you should never push the voice forward listen carefully to the recolio and pasagio goes inwards then you can produce 4 times the amount of volume control and tonal quality that the old Bel Canto singers had most of the vocal chords are inwards so if you push you will end up strangulating and tightning resulting in problems later in life

@ahtenor In my student days, technique was simple...breathe deep, drop the jaw, and focus the sound in a forward position...but not nasal. This worked...it was the Italian method...almost totally lost today. Today, teachers have a million "techniques" which do not work...and because of that, there are no more great, dramatic singers...only light-voiced, uniteresting ones who can't even sing that repertoire with any beauty or uniqueness. It is a lost art...DelMonaco's singing. Lost.

"strength" into "voice"....today we are full of singing books and methods....but where are the great voices like this...and sure I am that there are good voices around...but where is the "meat".....today many teachers teach the "low larynx"....but do they really know what does man?..if so why is it there are not more "big" voices....
any way this is my personal opinion...please reply me with your comments...thanks....

in my personal opinion mario del monaco has been the greatest tenor....look at him...he is thin and average man body...he did not have the body size of domingo, corelli, pavarotti...and so many more.....he did not have any big belly as today many tenors have....he also seems to articulate more...
today tenors are biger more muscle and breath capacity...but where is the sound...there must be something magic and unique about mario and his technique......continue...
